This adapter allows using microscope objectives with M40x36tpi mount thread (like Mitutoyo BD) in front of lenses with M52x0.75 filter thread (for macrophotography purposes).

M40x36tpi thread is made with large enough tolerances to accept M40x0.75 thread as well.
